Attaching a new sustainable energy nerve centre to a Grade ll listed building could become an opportunity to stretch the typically observed notions of in-keeping-with and subservient-to which ordinarily govern majority of architectural work with listed buildings. For that to happen, an open minded Conservation officer needs to be involved in the process from the early stages of design. We were lucky to have had such a support from the Haringey Council’s Conservation Officer and are delighted with how the outcome is shaping up. Watch this space for more.
