Listed Georgian Terrace, NW3
Client: Professional Couple
Engineer: Dewhurst Macfarlane & Partners
Photography: Dennis Gilbert
The fusion of a light modern garden room and a 19th century Listed family home in one of London’s original villages, Hampstead. An exercise in light and subtle detailing to achieve a harmonious new spatial sequence whilst retaining the hierarchy of the traditional late Georgian home. New spaces in old buildings and the careful treatment of their junctions are one of the practice strong points. The project included rear extension and design of fitted joinery. Materials exposed are timber, steel and glass.
