SPA has carried out a study of residential retrofits and refurbishments, looking at three successful projects we recently completed in North London. This revealed some key trends in residential architecture.
We focused on three Victorian terrace houses that have been radically transformed to accommodate a growing population of large families and people who work from home. Sub-dividing these houses into flats was a typical practice in the late 20th century, but in recent years there has been a high demand to transform these modified buildings back into single-family dwellings.
