The best improvements in building performance often come from things you never see. In our projects we often integrate Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery systems, MVHR in short, delivering constant fresh indoor air while recovering heat that would otherwise be lost. When added to the improvements of building envelope’s thermal performance, MVHR makes the most effective contribution to achieving comfort, high level of indoor air quality and significantly improved energy performance.
Systems like this however require good coordination between designers, engineers and contractors. This is especially taxing in retrofit projects where the extensive MVHR ductwork needs to be carefully threaded through, under and around the existing structures. Fortunately, the spaces in our project currently on site have generous ceiling heights, allowing for a carefully curated reflected ceiling designs. That way all the services can be safely accommodated without compromising neither the new design nor the existing structure.
