This retrofit project shows how joinery can become a powerful tool for transforming layout, creating flow and function while respecting the character of the original structure of the Listed Building. Using joinery to form internal spaces, allows the pursuit of fabric-first method with thorough upgrade of the external envelope.
Material choices mattered. We used certified plywood from sustainable European forests (Garnica ply), low-VOC MDF (Medite MDF), and no-VOC, low-impact stains and finishes (OSMO) to reduce environmental impact while maintaining durability and quality.
3D sketching played a key role in the process—helping bridge the gap between idea and reality, and making it easier for both clients and builders to fully understand and collaborate on the vision.
